by Jordan Gallagher

Bedfordshire is a picturesque region in eastern England that boasts lively cities, delightful hamlets, and breathtaking vistas. The area provides an exceptional standard of living and is conveniently located near London.

Here are six more places to live in Bedfordshire going into 2023.

1.  Leighton Buzzard

Leighton Buzzard offers diverse dining options, including many Italian-style restaurants. Additionally, several pubs are situated alongside the canal, such as The Globe Inn and Grove Lock. Shoppers can enjoy a variety of stores, including gift shops, high street retailers, and fresh food markets. The town also has schools catering to children aged 5 to 18, with lower, middle, and upper education options.

2. Sandy

Sandy is a charming town situated by a river that is becoming increasingly popular. The town boasts several quaint cafes, including Amici Coffee, which has an outlet at the train station, and a variety of well-liked independent restaurants and traditional and gastro-pubs. Additionally, there are convenience stores, a highly regarded local florist, a classic independent hardware store, and a selection of farm shops. The town has a couple of schools that Ofsted has rated as 'Good,' and nearby Bedford has a much more extensive selection of schools, including independent ones.

3. Henlow

Henlow is a charming village that boasts a well-loved pub and excellent transport links to London. It may be smaller than other places, but it offers a peaceful and picturesque setting. According to Muddy Stilettos, the Crown is a popular local pub known for its Sunday lunches and impressive wine selection. The village also has a few local shops, which include a village shop, a fish and chip shop, a pet shop, and two bakeries.

4.  Ickwell

Ickwell is a charming village that boasts a cricket green and Maypole, surrounded by quaint thatched and timbered cottages. It's located near Biggleswade and Bedford, with a popular pub and several cafes nearby. However, there aren't many shops in Ickwell, but Upper Caldecote has a farm shop and an antique shop.

5. Woburn

Woburn is a charming village that has received recognition as one of the best places to live in the UK by The Sunday Times. The town also boasts independent shops selling gifts, food, antiques, boutique clothing stores, and a monthly food market. Woburn's main attraction is the Woburn Safari Park, located on the grounds of Woburn Abbey, which draws in many visitors and encourages high-end businesses to thrive in the town.

6. Pavenham

Pavenham, a village previously recognised as one of the 'Best Places to Live' by The Sunday Times, offers a variety of local sports clubs to participate in. Pavenham is conveniently situated near excellent country pubs that host events such as pub quizzes and live music. The Pavenham Kitchen, a highly regarded local catering company, is also located in the village. Although Pavenham itself has limited shopping options, nearby Bedford has a variety of stores to choose from.

Conclusion

Bedfordshire is a stunning area that provides a high standard of living. Whether you desire a lively city or peaceful countryside, it has various options. Even in 2023, the housing industry in Bedfordshire is predicted to be prosperous, and there are many fantastic locations to reside in the region.
